We have some good examples of mainstream right to alt-right shifts, but I'm having a hard time thinking of left to alt-right shifts.

It's easy to forget the anti-evolution, pro-censorship religious right of the 80s and 90s, but back then the right did not have such a monopoly on an evolution-centered worldview.

You see very few 'conversions' in general. Hard enough for regular Joe to change ideology, nearly impossible for public figure to accept loss of face.

To me there's a lot of consistency between the kind of rationality that the left used to have in some corners and the kind the weird right has now, and I think Land understands this

Richard Dawkins is someone who I'm sure "knows" (at least into Jared Taylor if not all the way to the JQ) and has to watch where he steps in public statements now
