the verification is supposed to mean the person has been verified as being who they say they are. And that is it. they have made it mean twitter endorses them

All they had to do was keep telling people, "Verification is not endorsement", and they failed

I am not sure why people really care if they are verified or not. Read that you can change your name once you have the blue tick anyway
