tbf I think the CDA explicitly allows content moderation and absolves companies of liability for that moderation

Ok, yeah, I think the DMCA doesn't have much relevant to this. The CDA gives providers immunity from publisher liability. The only question would be if Twitter/FB does so much content editing that they become publishers, but they're safe from that still.

Oh, copyright, sure. Youtube in particular could have been destroyed, but truces were reached and courts liked Youtube. Copyright isn't really a great line of attack with these companies, though. Antitrust is much better.
