Complicated situation. Think academia and politics are at play

Riiiiight. Weird how we are going to establish microbiome and disease causation but 'IQ science' is still based off correlations. I think that's hilarious.

Disease causation is so much easier to prove, obviously

But there are 'IQ correlates', which don't prove causation. 100 tears of 'IQ science' and it's still based off correlations. Nothing definitive. Nothing causative. There's real science (microbiome) then there's 'IQ science'.

It's usually easy to tell when someone has a disease. It can be very difficult to tell whether someone is slightly smarter.

Right because no objective way exists. The way we 'find out' who's 'smarter' is based off of tests that force normal curves. IQ tests are garbage with assumptions built into them. That's why 'IQ heritability' increases with age.

IQ tests are pretty good at determining whether one person is smarter than another.

And if you object to the concept of "smarter" or of intelligence generally, I think you should know better

They are 'smarter' due to how the tests are constructed. Does anyone know how IQ tests are constructed and why that calls into question the assumptions and conclusions drawn from it?

You're getting bogged down in trivialities. Are some people smarter than others? Yes. Does this matter? Yes. Can we make tests that usually tell us who is smarter? Yes. Are these tests perfect? No

Can we make tests that tell us other groups are smarter? Most definitely.pic.twitter.com/GYl0bJClTE
