Here’s a question I’ve always had for the alt-right: why choose race as a way of dividing people? Why not social class, which has (almost always) greater predictive power from a demographic perspective?

I can't speak for everybody else, but from what I understand from

Debatable. The evidence that immigration hurts working class is mostly from Harvard economist George Borjas, who studied Miami before & after Mariel boat lift. Moreover, effects were temporary. But equally formidable economist Dave Card finds no impact.

Even if immigration of more low skill labor is a net benefit to lower income consumers, those at higher incomes benefit much more from it. It's also a distributional issue.

Not to mention that it increases population, and many of us don't want more crowding, more traffic, and dilution of government control
