I mean, I agree, but I just think the whole "waived tuition" concept for a student you're giving a stipend to is ridiculous

Schools should put their "list price" tuition up to $5M just so they can enslave their students to the IRS forever with waivers.

My question is why schools logistically charge a fake tuition that they refund back. Why don't they just say "we're selling you an educational product which costs $500 in student fees"? it must give them more federal grant money

Like a sale price, it might make the students more excited about the deal they're getting. "Look at this amazing discount!"
