You could say, "even so, we should redistribute to make things more even". I would point out that this penalizes savers and low fertility groups. I would also say that those $116k median whites you apparently want to take from aren't exactly rich.
I think we should be much more careful about skilled as well. Which is not to say it should be zero forever, but don't forget the diversity/conflict and dilutive effects of even high skill immigration.

Perhaps. There are a few potential risks: Chinese IP theft, wage stagnation or replacements if no floor, bias by hiring managers.

But at the same time, we train so many foreign students and not all manage to stay. Many go back and build for our national rivals.

Need to better align student visas with work visas afterward. Should grant automatically to top grad programs at the very least.

Also H-1B sponsorships lock employees to original employer, thereby suppressing wages. Should have a more liberal employee visa category.
