Gnon selects in His mysterious ways (which we can study to try to determine what He favors), and those who remain are the chosen ones.
-
so it's anthropomorphizing evolution through natural selection? Whichever way you cut it, the logic is fallacious.
-
Is there something wrong with anthropomorphising evolution through natural selection? It's the single most powerful force on all life.
-
yes there is. Putting human qualities onto things that have no goal doesn't make sense.
-
It might help people relate better to it
-
I get that but the logic is fallacious. People should be shown logic arguments, not fallacious ones like "gnon"
-
I don't really trust masses to understand logical arguments. But I have no real hope of Gnonism catching on.
-
true. I didn't understand logic until a took a course on it. It really should be taught in high school.

how would you define that word? Whatever increases fitness?
-
Which word? "right"? Well, I have my moral preferences, yes. Civilization, advances in tech, comfy lifestyles, low suffering, etc
-
But Gnon doesn't really care about our moral preferences
-
our moral preferences evolved through natural selection. Jonathan Haidt covers it in The Righteous Mind
