If you're really comparing the same varieties, ok. But there are so many varieties and people grow for so many things other than flavor
No. I've done enough tastings of different strawberry varieties to know that most varieties are barely worth eating.

It's no coincidence that the best tasting varieties don't ship well at all.

Why are they selling bad berries (& this goes for blueberries and raspberries as well: true for all three, though rasp are more reliable)?
-
1. Maybe they're experimenting 2. Maybe they made a mistake 3. Maybe they're optimizing for yield 4. Maybe they don't notice
-
Could be other possibilities as well
-
5. Maybe they're only really good during a very short window of time
-
In my experience, though, the people running or working at these don't even notice. Lots of people just aren't very attuned to flavors
-
So my suggestion is: get more, better tasters
