Even u-pick places don't always have tasty fruit. I have perfect raspberries in my yard, but a nearby u-pick is very bland.
Yes, actually. Focus on shipping and shelf life, and it's pretty hard to also get good flavor

No. I've done enough tastings of different strawberry varieties to know that most varieties are barely worth eating.

Why are they selling bad berries (& this goes for blueberries and raspberries as well: true for all three, though rasp are more reliable)?
