Beware of bland strawberry varieties (this means just about all of them in grocery stores). Accept only the tastiest cultivars.
I'm really just expressing disappointment with most fruit varieties. But point taken that even a bad variety may occasionally have outliers

Yes, actually. Focus on shipping and shelf life, and it's pretty hard to also get good flavor

No. I've done enough tastings of different strawberry varieties to know that most varieties are barely worth eating.

It's no coincidence that the best tasting varieties don't ship well at all.

Why are they selling bad berries (& this goes for blueberries and raspberries as well: true for all three, though rasp are more reliable)?
