Beware of bland strawberry varieties (this means just about all of them in grocery stores). Accept only the tastiest cultivars.

Even u-pick places don't always have tasty fruit. I have perfect raspberries in my yard, but a nearby u-pick is very bland.

If you're really comparing the same varieties, ok. But there are so many varieties and people grow for so many things other than flavor

And I've personally noticed huge flavor differences between varieties given similar conditions but not huge differences with conditions
