Personally, I think the "elites/media control opinion" position is a little exaggerated. People do absorb memes, but much horizontal transferhttps://twitter.com/primalpoly/status/861756636435808256 …

The thing is, the roots of progressive universalism go way back. Protestant ideas about equality, "all mem are created equal" etc
-
So with the moral framework already in place it was just a matter of applying it with social pressure. People gain status by appearing holy
-
I don't think the SPLC and ACLU are Protestant orgs.
-
I know they're Jewish

Your theory offers no way to explain how the country was still so racist so much later.
-
The thing is, the country wasn't actually very racist in 1965
-
Ok so we're done.
-
You have to go back to at least the 30s for that
-
What do you think racist means, exactly?
-
People in 1965 were signalling all over the place about how non-racist they were. It certainly wasn't cool at all to be racist then
-
Black tokenism on TV and in movies wasn't even really happening. Mudsharking was basically unheard of, social suicide.
-
I agree about mudsharking, but look at the civil rights act passed in 1964. And there was plenty of tokenism them

You seem to be mistaking slavery and racism. 1865 = 1965.
