Anyway, my point of all that about Germany in the 30s is really that sometimes I think about how much more efficient monarchy could be.

The lack of coherent authority in our democracy causes some massive inefficiencies, and of course there are various incentive problems.

But the German example also shows the downside of one man having too much power, of course.
