My take is that the complaints about the "liberal media" weren't really correct with respect to the GOP/Dem divide until 2004 or later.

Was it "liberal" for the media to support Bush over Dukakis in 88 or Bush in 2000? To be fair, pre-Trump GOP didn't question lib assumptions
