I think it's clear enough now that the immigration act of 1965 was the single worst law for existing Americans in the last 100 years.

IIRC, Nixon had a hostile Congress and couldn't have reversed it. All presidents from Carter to Obama basically supported more immigration.

The GOP presidents' support for immigration is most disappointing. Reagan and the Bushes could have made things better, but they didn't.
