The "red pill" metaphor is often regarded as corny, and I rarely use it.But the idea of awakening and political transformation is very real.
This is going on now with the alt-right, but can anyone think of good historical comparisons?When else have people had political awakenings?

I think it's notable that right now this kind of awakening is almost all going one way, although I suppose some have gone moderate->SJW
-
I regard that direction as less of a transformation, however. It's more of an evolution than a radical shift.

@HbdNrx There was a silent awakening of sorts in the 1970s when whites abandoned urban areas & built large numbers of private schools -
I'm thinking more like early communism. A lot of people suddenly shifted. Also Weimar -> Nazi Germany.
@JamesGaius -
@HbdNrx No, I know of no such sudden shifts in US history -
@HbdNrx The first real test of this shift will be cultural, IMO. Will awakened whites stop consuming Hollywood's trash? -
@JamesGaius right now it's still small, of course. Are we reaching a tipping point? Maybe -
@HbdNrx There's not a bigger SJW corporation than Disney. And they are also the most profitable studio -
@JamesGaius Facebook is comparably large and SJW. -
@HbdNrx Yes it is, and though I hate FB, at least we don't spend money to use it - 1 more reply
