It's perfectly reasonable for the Senate to delay confirmation of any judges. Vacancies have lasted for over 2 years before.

The Supreme Court will run just fine with a missing justice. Anyone who cares about the vacancy (instead of the ideological makeup) is wrong

Plenty of justices have been confirmed in election years or presidency year 8, but the Senate can do what it wants either way.
