@Jkqyl @Tipsycaek @wellplayd_ggate @SmailsHat to some extent it doesn't matter, but the influence of prep on these tests isn't that large
@Jkqyl they quantified the time put in. kids know the SAT matters. you don't have data showing dramatic improvements

@Jkqyl I'm not really sure why you're arguing that if only people put in more work they'll score substantially better on these tests. -
@HbdNrx To point out that in a world that values IQ, the great scientists will not pass their DNA, only the great IQ test practicers. -
@Jkqyl but great scientists pretty much have the highest IQs as well -
@Jkqyl not to mention that our society certainly does not value intelligence much -
@HbdNrx It will if you make that a prerequisite to breeding. -
@Jkqyl sounds great

@HbdNrx Skills people master take years. People who excel at academics and put in work, practiced hours a day for year effectively. -
@Jkqyl I think you don't understand the nature of genius very well. Einstein wasn't great because of his effort and practicing. -
@HbdNrx I believe he was. Practice goes on in the mind. He thought all the time. And that is what built his ability up. -
@Jkqyl everyone thinks all the time. he had special abilities -
@HbdNrx Sure, but he did not become better than everyone at everything. Specialists in other skills were better at those skills than him.
