Now that mortality is being equalized throughout the world as few people starve and medicine gets everywhere, fertility is

the only form of selection left. The global big picture is that selection is strongly in favor of low-IQ fast breeders now.

Ways to counteract this trend: 1. State-instituted eugenics + strict borders. Or 2. A return of selection pressures (ie death)

I'd really prefer the former to the latter. Unfortunately, people aren't very good at solving long-term collective action problems.

One way or another, selection pressures will return. Let's hope it's the gentle, intelligent kind instead of the brutal Malthusian kind.
