When I argue with normies about mass immigration, I usually just say that it isn't necessary and it causes problems.
-
The idea that we need immigration is a tacit assumption that no one questions. Just questioning it opens the Overton window.
-
I think the typical thought is a combination of: I like tacos We need workers Higher GDP("good for the economy") Don't want to be mean 2 ppl
-
Oh, and a little bit of "it's inevitable".Not much consideration in here about the possible downsides. People don't like thinking about that
-
People can come up with a variety of post hoc rationales for it, but they have never actually questioned the assumption.
-
And you can pretty easily rebut their rationales. I did a YT video on the case against mass immigration -- I went over the bad args for it.

I would focus on three lines of argument: 1/Countries are the sum of their people, and traits are hereditary;
-
2/Countries are like experiments & ppl need to suffer the consequences of their own shitty experiments for it to work out;
-
& 3/A whole range of sophisticated arguments made on
@Empedocles_DR's blog, about value of homogeneity, which I won't recite here. -
(And yes, it's too small)
