I suspect that #RachelDolezal genuinely felt like she fit in better with black people, and she wanted them to accept her.
To be honest, I am accepting of people who genuinely fit in better with an ethnicity other than their own, no matter their appearance.

I also understand not accepting someone who doesn't fit in, but I probably wouldn't hold appearance against them if they otherwise fit.

@HbdNrx if everyone who wasn't ciswhite was transwhite, how do you think the world would be? Not perfect ofc but... How? -
@damselmagdalena I don't follow...
-
@HbdNrx if Transracialism exists à la#WrongSkin, then ppl from non euro human microclades could be transwhite if they performed whiteness. -
@damselmagdalena sure, if someone acts white I'll call them an "honorary white" (see some Asians)
-
@HbdNrx is a future with a community of transwhite Asians growing by repro/conversion possible? (Deep hypotheticals this Saturday nite
) -
@damselmagdalena I'm thinking more of a few outliers than whole communities, but it's possible to get a kind of convergent evolution
-
@damselmagdalena if a "whiter" group splits off and continues selecting for "whiteness", basically
-
@HbdNrx which groups do you think those might be? Asians raised in the west? Christian Asians in their countries? Or hi caste light ones? - 2 more replies

@HbdNrx Out of curiosity, what do you mean by "accepting?" Do you merely mean treating fairly/respectfully, or something else? -
@Trainspotter001 Sometimes a person really does fit in better as a member of a different group. I want people to maximize fit. -
@HbdNrx That's the slippery slope back to the "proposition nation." Nice in theory, disastrous in practice. -
@Trainspotter001 I think a small amount of high quality assimilation is good. Only people who truly fit in. -
@HbdNrx Whites have nothing to gain from "assimilating" blacks/browns. Accepting that it's a good thing just gets the camel's nose into tent -
@Trainspotter001 As a person who often has not fit into groups I've been around and actually fit in better with some nonwhites, I think... -
@Trainspotter001 allowing some like-minded new people from the outside to join can be a good thing -
@HbdNrx I have non-white friends who I think the world of. I'm very "accepting" in that sense. That's different than interbreeding. - 6 more replies
