Stormfront, Moldbug, AmRen, the PUA scene, and a lot of HBD stuff were around in 2011 and before, but the big shift of internet subcultures happened around 2012-2013 when /pol/ turned and the DE exploded. This was all in response to the leftist awakening driven by social media

how long? I've been online since 92 and *seriously* into online politics since 96ish there has been no explosion in alt right communities online only natural growth with the rest of the net and I was here in 13 and it was not any kind of annus mirabilis

1992 and I disagree. 2012/2013 was a huge turning point that happened simultaneously in multiple internet communities
