Tesla is going to miss Musk far more than America would miss the SEC.

Even the SpaceX stuff?

I should say I'm really just not familiar enough with any of it to properly judge, but he comes across to me as overhyped. But this is not an informed opinion.
-
So what basis at all so I have to say that? I guess really it comes from seeing a lot of kind of wild claims either from Musk (or second-hand regarding his claims) or from others talking about what they expect, and it always has just sounded kind of unrealistic to me.

*that second "so" is a typo and should be "do"

Musk is overhyped. Except from
@Outsideness you rarely hear about what he's actually doing. It's all Tesla, solar, etc. These are all scams. -
Musk is quite brilliant *as a marketer* and as such, I respect him. In terms of standard business metrics like cash flow and company health, he produces trash fires. SolarCity is his only really profitable business and he merged it with the others to cover up heavy losses.
-
Also, by concentrating on getting to Mars he let SolarCity's dominance slip. They fell out of #1 in market share in several areas despite having the best battery tech because they have badly trained sales teams.

Attention deficit & burnout threaten his many ambitions If he disappoints it may set back humanity & discourage big visions to take on huge challenges Instead expect more innovations of limited ambition aiming to deliver audiences optimized advertising 120 characters at a time
