I think that depends on the question, but the Russians were favorable towards Trump after the election. Russia and Israel were the outliers. Maybe now they think of Trump as just another American president? The thing is, impotence is a good reason for the lack of confidence.

Trump is clearly more pro-Russia than the American elite, but the fact that his administration is guided by others means that he is impotent, and as such not worthy of great trust by the Russians.

If Russians were really aware of the US internal politics, they would see that Trump is a step in the right direction.

Maybe, but as Putin said, US foreign policy has a life of its own that is independent of its presidents. It is not irrational for Russians to see any American president with suspicion, however, I'm pretty sure they still prefer Trump over Hillary.
