The truth is I think Trump deciding not to tweet (for example) wouldn't help at all. I think they *say* it's his style, but the truth is it's the media memeing on them.

I think there is a positive feedback loop in effect. The press loved his February 2017 speech to Congress which was pretty hard stuff but delivered with a smile. When Trump is crass online, the press exaggerates it, which makes him bantz the press and establishment even more.
