If non-Baptists killed a third of the Baptist population, they might demand their own state.

But would the USA give that Baptist state billions of dollars in aid every year?

Would the USA look the other way while the Baptists stole hundreds of pounds of highly enriched uranium from it while spreading toxic nuclear waste near Pittsburgh? Would they look the other way while that Baptist state built an illegal nuclear program?

Would the USA look the other way if the Baptists attacked one of our Navy ships over & over again, machine-gunning lifeboats, killing 34 & wounding 171?

And after that, would the US KEEP giving that Baptist state billions of dollars every year?

Yes to all questions if geopolitical necessities call for it. Also, I don't know much about the enriched uranium conspiracy, but the USS Liberty was a mistake. The audio recording is clear, and Israel had no interest to gain in it.

We shouldn't be stationing American forces in other countries either.

I am sure you must envy the current geopolitical circumstances and degree of power held by, e.g., the UK in that case. No one voluntarily surrenders an empire. At worst, they may be too weak in preserving it.

Our 'empire' is the most stupid 'empire' in history where we revive no tribute in exchange for protecting others, where instead we pay everyone-else & go into massive debt to maintain order in places that have no effect on America.
