It's interesting because Dinesh D'Souza has somewhat decent opinions. He defended Ingraham when she talked about demographics. He said that the US was not created by immigrants, but by settlers. He does not think it is immoral to deport illegals or reduce legal immigration, so he

is not exactly the kind of Republican you'd expect given his background. That said, his reading of history is ridiculous. It's funny because both the left and the dissident right understand that the Democratic Party was racist because its base was racist, and that base, primarily

whites of the South, moved to the Republican Party. The serious problem is that, once again, instead of dismantle the moral framework of the left, trying to pass the evil of racism to the Democrats only confirms its legitimacy.

It just validates the idea that racism is evil, and of course racism can designate many things, but you will never be able to successfully accuse someone who wants to import Africa from racism.

I agree with all of this. I wonder if his decent opinions, as you pointed out, are enough to regard him positively, or if the moral framework and history he pushes is just too harmful.

I can't see how he's a positive. He mystifies naturally right-wing people and misdirects their energy.
-
I know he's wrong about a lot of stuff, but he's also right about some things. I recal seeing something by him a while back that was actually good, but I can't remember what.

Negative. Conservatives need to stop poorly making sweeping documentaries that attempt to cover vast swaths of American history because they are either boring (Bannon's work) or ridiculous (D'Souza's).
-
Conservatives should be focusing on smaller scale investigative work (think PBS Frontline) that is objective as possible. Laura Southern's South African piece is the step in the right direction.
-
The Left has a canon of these made for literally every political issue that they find important. They have docs covering the Refugee Crisis (Human Flow), campaign financing (Dark Money), and famous figures they lionize (RBG). All of these came out in the past year.

Net negative. His movies share an error-filled neocon fantasy of history. We don't need a street-shitting dothead neocon squish muddying up the history of the white people who founded America
