It wouldn't work for the right because the left can plausibly say, "we're just opposing racists (ie the pure essence of evil)", while the right saying, "we're just opposing (evil?) universalists" doesn't really go over.

At first glance people might say that the left-right distinction boils down to universalism vs. nationalism/tribalism. The left just loves everyone, and the right hates the outgroup, right? (Hence the opposing of "racists").

This all sort of goes over because the left is an unstable alliance of the most universalist people with the most tribal. So they can simultaneously say they love everyone, including their most tribal allies, while other segments of the left are virulently anti-white.

You'd think the universalists would notice the problem here, but whites are generally regarded as dominant, so the universalists think they deserve it.

The right antifa counterpart could go down the "we're just opposing anti-whites" path, but that requires being much more explicit about things people would rather speak of in euphemism, and the opposing tribalists of course wouldn't agree with its legitimacy.
