This is, of course, very bad for Assange and Wikileaks. The Ecuadorian president who gave Assange asylum has been replaced with an anti-Assange guy. Maybe if we're lucky this will lead to some mysteries being solved, though?https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/1020134927701020673 …
At this point unless he can somehow get to Ecuador he should hope he can get extradited to the US rather than stay in the UK or Sweden. Trump is his best hope, but he might have to endure some legal proceedings first.

And the trial by media. Assange is going to be turned into Goebbels by the lugenpresse.
-
Like the Zimmerman trial, the truth will come out even if the media is opposed.

True, and if it's played correctly, it could be the final coup de grace on their credibility.
-
Trump needs evidence from Assange for this, so perhaps it's better this way.
-
I actually have this mental image now of Trump and Assange giving a joint press conference at the White House, with journos throwing shoes at them.

Whenever the pardon happens, the media freakout will be beautiful
-
*note that it may not happen until as late as January 2025

Depends on what Assange has. If it's damaging enough, there might be the political capital for an earlier pardon. Too many factors, many of which we aren't privy to.
