To be fair, most of the Indian deaths related to contact with Europeans were from diseases like smallpox, much of the land was "sold" rather than conquered, and the Indians also attacked and killed many Europeans.
Right, and in general there's no reason to think of the Indians or Indian culture as "better" than ours. Different and generally more primitive, including various practices we might call "savage" today. Also they had plenty of conquering between them before Europeans.
