It is not easy for me to explain to you how the past 24 hours has made me feel. I’m from Manchester. My family are the descendants of Jews who fled from places like Russia and Poland where Jews were routinely the victims of race hate. I’ve lived in London for over 30 years. 1/

The previous evening he had addressed the Gala Diner for the European elections - which went on to elect 62 Labour MEPs in the wake of his support. A worthy tribute to this great European.

Really pleased that raised this today in the Queen’s Speech debate. The Prime Minister doesn’t get it and this crisis will only get worse until he brings forward legislation to protect leaseholders.

All we ask is the chance to serve, he said. He wasn't there by then but had helped position the Party so that it could. We owe him much.
