Josh I served 22 yrs w/ 4 combat tours. I’m from Kirkwood. Stop using my service for your shameless politics. I don’t oppose a parade because I’m “liberal”. I oppose it because we should be focused on wars and taking care of our troops not sham “thanks for your service” shows.

I agree. Our show of force is our military deployed on every continent. Use those funds for the VA or GI bill scholarships for post-graduate schools.

Hi! I’m actually in the Army, and if someone wants to honor the troops they can just leave us all the hell alone to spend four-day weekend in peace, thank you very much. No one’s idea of fun is marching in dress uniforms in DC in July

There should be no money wasted on a military parade until all the soldiers in the parade are paid enough that they no longer need SNAP benefits to feed their families. This should be a minimum condition for a parade.

FWIW: My brother has been in the Army since '86 and my uncle also served during Vietnam. So, by your own calculus my opinion should be on equal foot with yours.
