“The agency has managed to hire a few sharp new researchers in Kansas City, but they’re just a drop in the bucket.” Because of course there are no smart people in Kansas City or the Midwest. You can’t make this stuff up.

You are a US Senator. You have a responsibility to make sure government actually works. Are you not bothered at all that whole areas of essential federal research relevant to agriculture in states like yours have just disappeared? https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2019/10/21/white-house-didnt-like-my-agencys-research-so-it-sent-us-missouri/ …pic.twitter.com/NMtQjZOUpk

He is much more concerned with pretending to take it as an insult to his state so he can be seen as its defender against the "elites," one of whom he works very hard to appear not to be.

You could literally replace "Missouri" with virtually any other state and the viewpoints of the opinion would remain the same. The final location of the move wasn't the point. It was the treatment leading up to and the actual move itself. JFC.
