This also hurts the people who legitimately NEED these drugs for ailments and pain. And paranoid corporate pharmacies -- and some physicians -- trying to avoid lawsuits and investigations are making it worse.
Instead of waging a war on drugs, perhaps a focus on harm reduction would save lives. Legalization of marijuana at the federal level would help greatly.

Springfield is on the main corridor for drugs coming out of the SW/Mexico heading for St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, etc. Control of the I-69 corridor is what started the cartel wars along the southern border 20 years ago.
It is sad. I understand we need more counseling, more facilities and more caring. I hope we can get this under control. Unfortunately the drug companies are putting out more and more medications which have not been thoroughly tested.
Josh, how many police "sting" operations are ongoing in our state. Where police are allowing drugs to be sold, while hoping to get the next level criminals? Shut down the strings and stop the flow.
