I understand how a stronger dollar hurts our exports and makes foreign goods cheaper. But if the Federal Reserve “prints” more “money”, it will just enrich private bankers. I’d be way more in favor of the US printing money if Congress owned and spent the new money instead.

This is a horrible idea. Workers are squeezed when a currency’s exchange rate falls, because they have to pay more for goods they import. If the dollar goes down against the Chinese yen or European currency, Chinese imports are going to cost more in dollars.

This bill is a good start. How about adding a tax on interest paid to Foreign Govt entities on bonds backed by the US Govt? Did you know that US taxpayers pay ordinary tax rates on interest while foreign Govt holders pay ZERO? Add this to your bill, please.
Next, fire all the China hands from the state department because they speak Chinese, followed by 30 years of no China policy.
