No need to debate dog-whistles: Sen Hawley speech called “real Americans” people from small towns in Midwest who work with their hands, and educated people from cities and coasts American enemy. Jews, Muslims, non-Whites don’t fit into his idealized 1950 version of US. Full Stop.
