Horrifying: Hawley explicitly states ONLY "real Americans" did not finish college, work w/ their hands, live in Midwest. Implicit: they are White & male. Further, he notes people who live in cities or coasts, w/ college education, are not loyal to US. All Americans are American.

For too long we accepted this "real American" ideal of white men in diners in Midwest w/o thinking about how it sets us up for the more hardcore white nationalism we see today. Further, as Hawley rails against big corps, he backs taxes and regulation policy designed for them.
