And yet world governments allow Google free reign in the continued operation of their mass-surveillance program. Its time governments legislated to distrupt the obvious monopoly big tech companies have on the market & empower consumers with viable alternatives to major services.

The worst part is not that we don't believe Google in Congress but that a growing number of us do not trust them in our browser and are quietly switching search engines. Put another way, Google is past its prime and is on the way out. Think not? Think CNN. Happens to everyone.
Google simply has too much power and too little loyalty to democratic principles.
I’d call it too much loyalty to anti democratic (and anti liberty) principals. Directly attacking 1st Amendment (natural) rights to advance an essentially Marxist agenda, described as “equity, diversity, and inclusion”, through imposition of (artificial) group rights.
