No one is holding a gun to your head to buy a lootbox ... They have been around forever anyways ... Ever heard of baseball cards? Also, Japan seems to be doing fine and they have gacha/lootboxes in everything.

Correction. Videogames shouldn’t put casinos in their games if they already paid for the games to begin with (I’m looking at you,
@EA) -
I can get behind this. If you already paid for the game yeah keep your loot boxes outta my shiz but if it's a free to play game with transparent numbers well ... you know the gacha hell you are walking into and the only one you have to blame is yourself.

Their not just targeting kids. Lootboxes and a lot of RNG (Random Number Generator) based microtranaction mechanics are designed to prey on the inherent predisposition many have to gambling addictions, both in children and adults. Why do you think the industry made multi-billions

There are games, like Star Trek Online, Team Fortress 2 and others which contain "Lockboxes". These boxes require keys to open, keys you must buy. And the "Prizes" you get are 100% RNG based drop chances. With lowest tier items dropping 99% of the time and top at 0.01% or lower.

This is nice and all, but Wall Street is robbing Americans of far more money. You could target high frequency traders and save us nearly $100,000,000,000 per year!

How do you control whether or not they are 18? Games that are rated M are supposed to be only played/bought by adults but there are plenty of kids playing those games. How do you stop loot boxes being sold to those kids? The problem is access to parents credit cards not the game
