Northam’s point is that politicians shouldn’t be involved in the process. Its arrogant to think that inviable and deformed fetuses can be kept alive or that Northam is promoting infanticide. He is stating that it is an issue between the family and physicians. Not demagogues.

Given that he has roughly 9 years more medical training than you, and was on the board of directors for the only pediatric hospice care in Virginia, I’m gonna go out in a limb and say you’re twisting his words.

What he ACTUALLY said was that infants born with significant anomalies (think, without a brain) would be kept comfortable and allowed to die natural deaths if the physicians and family decided that medical intervention would cause unnecessary distress to the infant.

He was talking about NON-VIABLE FETUSES/infants. They are talking about whether to use life-prolonging efforts in an infant that WILL NOT SURVIVE. This should NOT be controversial, unless you want to turn it into something it’s not to fire up the base.
-
Could you explain , please , why a “discussion would ensue” if he’s referring only to non- viable infants?

How this tyrant does not get impeached over that remark is beyond me. This will make a great campaign ad. I still can't believe it.

They wouldn't go down this road if they could figure out how to get a vote from the baby
