I thought the tariffs were suppose to punish those who we trade with, not the American tax payer. Doesn't really make sense does it?

The NYT has a podcast called The Daily. Today it was reported that China is buying soybeans from Brazil rather than the US thanks to 45's tariffs. Is that fake news? Because if it's not, it's in no way good news for MO farmers.

The EU won’t take US soybeans because either the beans aren’t organic or the chemical pesticides used in the states are forbidden within the EU. So no, it won’t help the farmers. Stop lying to the people of Missouri!

Trump is killing US &MO Farmers livelihood w/ his Trade War. Tariffs are TAXES. $12 Billion Bail Out is NOT what Farmers want! The money will only help large corporate farmers. This is classic Trump. Cause an Unneccessary Catastrophe-work to mitigate catastrophe-claim success.

TRUMP effed up the farmers with tariffs. Now tax payers are bailing them out. Again Trump fails.
