You know, I've seen a lot of people rightfully bail on Facebook. I've actually doubled down on using it? I'm trying to understand extended family's POV on certain things and hopefully help them see it another way.

It's really stressful talking to family (especially extended family) about political and social issues. They might not listen or even get angry. I feel like it's worth a shot :// If family can't help other family members see things different then I don't know what will?

I've also heard it's "not my job" to change their mind and I understand that maybe it's not. But when I see someone post something that spreads bad information or is pretty much a meme only made to incite anger I feel like I need to say something in the most even way I can

This all being said one family member just blocked me for discussing how I think it's unfair to conflate taking a knee during the anthem with disrespecting troops so
I was trying my best to be respectful to her too.29 odpowiedzi 0 podanych dalej 174 polubionePokaż ten wątek -

I’m there with you. Living/working in Texas with family in Oklahoma makes FB an incessant dumpster fire of misinformation I try to manage. Rather than unfollow family and coworkers, I try to see their side but it is so exhausting. Keep fighting the good fight
