Continuing the thread! I have generalized anxiety. One time I thought my asthma was coming back as an adult, but I was actually just having daily little panic attacks. I've gone to therapy on and off. Still looking for what works for me. I very recently started Zolofthttps://twitter.com/jmdornbush/status/1278813517261336579 …

Something I learned recently: You can talk to your primary care doctor about mental health! I didn't realize that was an option. I was having irregular but heavy panic attacks and difficulty concentrating, so she recommended I try Zoloft. I think it's going well!

A tough thing with medication is the trial and error period. Some may not work for you. Some may make things worse! I started by taking half a pill of Zoloft (it seemed good) then moved to the full pill and it got REAL BAD. Back on half and it's good again. Just gotta keep trying

And medication can't fix everything! I've worked in time to meditate daily with help from the Headspace app. I like it. It's not cheesy. Just yesterday I also scheduled in "worry time" where I vent to a journal about my issues to further help process them -- a rec from my doctor.

I too have had anxiety/OCD/depression my whole life. For about 13 years I "self-medicated" via alcohol (aka, drank like a fish). After getting sober I thought nothing could make me feel better, until I found a nice counselor named Ellen and a sertraline prescription from my doc.

Congrats on getting sober and finding a healthy way to take care of you!!!

I'm so sorry you had to go through that
