It's also fucking unreal how nervous I feel whenever I bring up the topic of my own representation in games. It always comes with the fear and expectation that some rando twitter shitbird and his cronies are gonna light up my mentions with hateful nonsense.

Hey! I’m Mexican and stream, create podcasts, and write game reviews. If I think about it I agree that I don’t see many of us.
@HavokRose and@Gameonysus are my hero’s and the only people who come to mind.1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 3 polubione -

I’m not bilingual (can only understand Spanish) I was just never taught. People like me are often ostracized & discouraged from speaking up because we are seen as less genuine/ not able to speak from a Latinx perspective.

I’m 2nd gen American. I expect every generations identity morphs the longer they are in the USA. Sadly more will “lose” some of their heritage if we as parents don’t keep tradition/culture alive. I’m sure my identity shapes my outlook on gaming though I’ve never explored it.

Miranda did get lots of grief for her thoughts of Guacamelee 2 after her words were taken out of context (per internet usual) After getting her whole view it was clearly she has a solid perspective. so yes trolls are always waiting to attack. P.S. great twitch streams I’ll follow

Hi hi! First, thank you ;_; that means a whole lot to me. I recommend following
@LatinosinGaming if you don't already. Even living in California, I felt a little lonely in Latinx representation when I first started but it has def been changing for the better since.2 odpowiedzi 0 podanych dalej 7 polubionych -

Super late to this thread but thank you for the shout outs. I also understand a good amount of Spanish but can’t speak much. Being any minority can always been lonely esp when you’re v underrepresented in your field.

Miranda was one of the first latinx women I knew in the industry who was at a major outlet. Now she’s my boss and it’s so cool to work directly under a WOC esp one who is Latinx.
