Future U.S administrations need to understand that the resilient Iranian nation will not surrender.

No administration in history has undone 13 yrs of Int’l negotiations w/o rationale and dishonored UN resolutions. The U.S can neither impose negotiations, nor war! Life is hard under sanctions, but it is harder without independence.

They falsely accuse us and impose sanctions – without any foundation – under the pretext of nuclear proliferations, while the infamy of the only use of atomic bombs in the history of humanity lies upon them.

They claimed to aid the fight against Saddam, the very monster they had created, nurtured and financed themselves. They continue to boast about fighting terrorism, while they themselves create such networks, and have the audacity to expect gratitude!

Such a nation does not deserve sanctions. Battling occupation, genocide, discrimination should not be sanctioned. Combatting extremism should not be rewarded with assassination. The response to peace is not war. False pretenses are not criterions, deeds are.

We achieved the #JCPOA as one of the biggest accomplishments in the history of diplomacy and remained faithful to it, in spite of persistent violations by the United States.

We fought ISIS & terrorists to show the true, rational face of Islam, not extremism & demagoguery. Martyred Gen. Soleimani was the hero of the fight against extremism in the ME. He fought for all – religious/secular, Muslim/Christian, Shia/Sunni – against medieval reactionaries.

We stood with the people of Syria against terrorists, separatists and foreign fighters. While others sought military solutions, we presented our four-point peace plan. With the help of Russia and Turkey, we formed the Astana process to achieve peace and political solution.

Iran was the first country in the region to stand with Kuwait against Saddam Hussain’s occupation. Iran also stood with the people of Iraq against tyranny, U.S. occupation and ISIS savagery. We supported Iraqis of all faith and ethnicity & their democratically elected governments

Iran proposed WAVE, which was unanimously adopted by UN General Assembly in 2013 and non-aggression pact with its neighbors in 2018. In 2019, we presented Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) to this General Assembly aimed at enhancing peace and stability in the Persian Gulf.

The Iranian nation has not only resisted maximum pressure, but has also flourished and advanced while pursuing its historic and civilization role as a pivot of peace and stability.

#COVID19 is a common pain, demonstrating that our ignorance outweighs our knowledge It reminds us of imperative of humility &humbleness, that global issues need global participation Iranians are grappling w/ harshest sanctions in history imposed in blatant violation of UN Charter

In phone call today w/ Pres Putin, we agreed on the importance of int'l cooperation to fight #COVID19. Also agreed that EU must take action against US unlawful behaviors, incl its veto of Iran’s loan request from the IMF to fight pandemic. Tehran-Moscow will implement agreements.

I want to remind the international community of their duties in this pandemic crisis. We are a member of the International Monetary Fund (#IMF) and World Bank. It is unacceptable to discriminate between different nations, both for us and the global public opinion. #COVID19

In a letter addressed to the people of the United States of America, I asked them to appeal to their administration and congress that the current path of pressure and sanctions will never be successful.
