I’m fairly confident you could find quotes from Bernie advocating for single-payer before 1991.

Definitely! He's supported universal healthcare since the 1980s, working with "Physicans for a National Health Program." We couldn't find an exact date where he mentions "single-payer" so we went with the year he introduced his first healthcare bill (6 months into taking office)!

Although it doesn't specifically mention "single-payer," Bernie has advocated for universal healthcare since 1972 in an op-ed he wrote! (1991 was the year he introduced his first healthcare bill in Congress, 6 months after taking office)pic.twitter.com/wPTtkBFT6y

Warren still supports Medicare for All, but now with a two year phase-in. I would expect someone who attends Harvard to know details like that.
-
fair point sophia! the phase-in framing isn't accurate because Warren's plan requires two entirely separate fights for public option and for single payer, where the 2nd is not guaranteed by the 1st. Public option will not solve problems with out of network accessibility (1/2)

Tulsi's website currently states that she supports "a single-payer system" and she's spoken about it at length in countless formats (she uses the term "single-payer plus" and models it on the Australian system) so this is not correct.
-
single payer plus = more than one payer = not single payer
