Texas has been fully open for ten days now. Between the data from both Texas and Florida it’s insane that any state anywhere is still locked down.

Today Texas surpassed 9 million vaccinations. It was just 5 days ago that we passed 8 million. More than 60% of seniors & more than 1/3 of Texans ages 50-64 have received a shot. Hospitalizations declined again to the lowest since Oct. 8th. Great job Texans!

Information in the 70s: took up your whole fucking bookshelf, maybe a little outdated, 97% accurate. Information today: fits in your pocket, up-to-date, 97% bullshit and animal videos. Advantage: 70s

" The lockdowns failed to stop the virus but did a great deal of societal damage along the way—damage that a more targeted approach, seeking to reduce total harms, would have been able to avoid (and did, in places like Sweden and Florida)."

You never compromise with violence. You never compromise with intimidation. You never compromise with those who want to use it to extinguish freedom and democracy, because if you do then the very things for which you stand are extinguished.

My Newsweek piece on the border crisis includes one of the craziest experiences of my life: when a major hotel CEO complained bitterly that “Trump’s immigration policy” had forced him to raise wages.
