We can: 🌱Let trees grow to restore nature & in doing so also reduce some [not all] the *existing* CO2 overdose that’s destroying ecosystems Or 🔥Plant carbon sticks for more planes & new CO2, achieving nothing There is not enough spare land to do both.

Are we subsidising the climate & biodiversity crises? EU Member States spend over €6.5 billion yearly subsidising bioenergy. is a false solution: it emits carbon, destroys trees and adds to the & . Restore , don’t burn them!

Day 4: The Marsh Fritillary (Euphydryas aurinia) is declining across Europe and is protected under the EU Habitats Directive. 📈📈 The data from 1990 proves the decline of its abundance in Europe

Exactly! We urgently need to bring back to farms, and EU farm subsidies should set 10% as the minimum requirement, it's what the science says is needed

This wonderful and simple drawing illustrates perfectly how changes in our farming practice brings nature back onto our farms. So many XR Farmers are doing this now! Please show your support for nature friendly farmers

We are deep in the & . Yet if current management practises continue the EU forest carbon sink will halve by 2050. However, if restored to health, EU forests could be absorbing triple the amount of carbon dioxide they currently remove.

This is absolutely crucial. If doesn't give the staff, resources & political backing to take Member States to court, all the rest is just entertainment. Laws are as good as their enforcement. Policies asgood as their legal power.

When a man who protects butterflies is found dead in suspicious circumstances, it is another tragic sign of the deepening crisis over our exploitation of what's left of planet Earth's resources.

Timely that a parallel event I am at shows that whilst nature is dying, CAP is still paying €2500 a hectare to irrigated tobacco farms in Spain. Meanwhile theres no in the EU budget... time for politicians to put our future before private interests!

Indeed. Without addressing EU's over-consumption and production of meat & dairy we won't get to a 'sustainable food system' but Commission keeps on ignoring the facts, and the science.

Subsidies from EU taxpayers given to tobacco growers in Spain! There’s something really rotten about parts of the CAP - the biggest single budget item in the EU. Clean it up! Spend citizens money on good things like nature...
