I would argue nothing is free. You pay taxes for it. But it's better than making it a for-profit enterprise where dollars are more important than life.

It's free at the point of service, of course we pay for it in taxes. One advantage of this model is that when the hospital or doctor bills you, the amount is based on a negotiation already carried out by your insurer (the government) and that price applies to everyone.

I live in the netherlands and have to pay 165 euro for my healtcare insurance, but i have some extras in it, the base insurance is about 110 euro and its getting more expensive every year, allot of people getting angry about that.
